In every situation in life, we come to a decision of “the tipping point”.
It is an invisible line that predetermines your choice of yes or no; move forward or stand still; hide or fight; answer or keep silent; etc. You make your own decision on what is “worth it” and what is not.
When all the the elements have been weighed out, the decision becomes clear. There are times we get in a hurry thinking we know which way it will tilt before everything has been accounted for. The tipping point may even become evident long before all the weights are distributed.
You could go against what seems logical and defy the scales or you can choose to follow what truly is revealed before you.
Some details are very weighty. They have a tendency to create the biggest shift in the balances. God is SO LIKE THIS! He knows how to “tip the scales”. Even when it is impossible for the scales to tip in your favor, God can still work it out. Don’t give up! Don’t ever worry! He’s got the best planned for you.
Proverbs 16:11 (NIV) states, “Honest scales and balances are from the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making.” Believe me. He knows just how to cause the troubles to be worth the weight we must bear. AND He is in control of the weights. He will determine what is best for you. Are you listening?
People can also represent the weights. Some have the potential to weigh down the positive outlook in life making everything a negative complaint. Obviously, they do not have the interest of anyone else but themselves at heart.
Some things and people are not worth all the energy you are giving up. I have been told this MANY times in the last 2 years. I wish I would have been a better listener (and follower) of such good advice. But at least I didn’t move too quickly.
On one side of the scale, there are other people who lift the load we carry and tip the scale in the other direction. This week, my wife got a special note from a friend to confirm us and what God is doing in our lives. LOVE these people. Not necessarily because they would confirm us, but because they are AWESOME people with the purpose of God upon their lives and they see the good that God is doing in and through us. I would fight to the end for people like that! They tip the scales of making life enjoyable.
These kind of people and things in your life that are WELL WORTH the hell you fight on a regular basis. So, fight on!
When you make your decisions, who is or how are you determining your tipping point?
